Back from the Grave – Bands We’re Thrilled are Reuniting

Selling_MusicIn between sharing advice and helping you sell your music online, here at SongCast, we’re constantly listening to music. We listen to the indie beginners, to the up-and-coming artists. We listen to the offbeat bands, and to the absolute classics.

And yes. We listen to the incredible bands who used to be, but are no longer.

Between perfectly crooned choruses and expertly coordinated air guitar solos, we tip our hats to those beautiful bands who created perfect music together and split up, leaving only incredible relics of their talent behind.

And while we’re still perhaps waiting for The Civil Wars to realize they can reconcile their differences and go back to rocking the airwaves (it will happen), we must admit: we’re thrilled about the awesome bands who did reunite.

Who made the cut, might you ask? Here are our top three:

  1. Fleetwood Mac: From Rhiannon to Big Love, we will forever love Fleetwood Mac. And while the band itself had some serious personnel issues, nothing, nothing tops the almost haunting, always striking voice of Fleetwood’s Stevie Nicks. And then the band broke up – talk about a landslide to our heats. But in July 2012, Stevie Nicks confirmed the reunion rumors, and they plan to tour 34 US cities. Fleetwood, we’ll be there. Oh, we’ll be there.
  2. The Replacements: Nothing says alternative rock like The Replacements. And while there were certainly a handful of line-up changes, while the band may have never made it to “mainstream,” the instrument-thrashing group belted lyrics as real as the harsh times they lived in. The group disbanded in 1991 but in a move that caused several of us to whip out our lighters and begin to sway, they announced a brief reunion during the summer of 2013.
  3. ‘NSync: We know, we know, but we just can’t help it. Saying “Bye Bye Bye” to JT and the boys was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to do. And while there unfortunately aren’t any plans for the 90’s boy band to return (for real) anytime soon, their brief (too brief) reunion at the 2013 VMA’s was almost enough to tide us over for a while. Maybe someday they’ll come back. But in the meantime, we won’t lie: it’s tearin’ up our hearts.

So there you have it, fellow music lovers. And don’t worry – if The White Stripes ever gets back together, we’ll let you know. Still curious about how to sell your music on iTunes? Come check us out at http://songcastmusic.com/.
