Cheerio, good chaps – it’s SongCast here, helping you promote your music 24/7. Though in the past we’ve covered stage personas, leading ladies, and rehearsal tips and tricks, today, we’re talking favorite new artists from across the pond.
From The Beatles to Eric Clapton, from Mick Jagger to Amy Winehouse, the U.K. has been supplying the world with some of the greatest musical geniuses of all time for decades. And while we could go on and on about the masters who made music history (did we mention The Beatles?), today, we’re going to list our top 3 favorite new British artists.
1. James Blake: Mellow, epic, and overall amazing, James Blake is our number one pick when it comes to incredible artists from across the pond. From his remixes (did you know he even remixed Queen Bey’s “Drunk in Love”?) to his collaborations (Bon Iver) to his covers (Jodi Mitchell) to his original songs (“Retrograde”), James Blake leaves us nodding in our headphones 100% of the time.
2. Bebe Black: With a voice as full as her stage presence, Bebe Black croons with soul in every song she sings. She’s collaborated, she’s released, she’s performed – she’s done it all. From “Deathwish” to “I’ll Wait,” Bebe’s voice simply transcends. Check her out – we know you’ll agree.
3. Palma Violets: We first fell for Palma Violets when they rocked the stage at Lollapalooza 2013. Fresh, alive, indie, imagine Arcade Fire with a little Mumford and Sons thrown in for good measure. The four-piece group released their first album just last year and have gone on to stun every time they take the stage for live performances.
So the next time you’re asking the questions “How do I promote my music?” or “How do I make it big in the industry” try looking just a little further for your answers.
