Promoting your music in the digital age

In today’s digital world, band promotion has changed radically from previous generations. Purchasing hundreds of CDs or duplicating cassettes, printing up press kits and photos and sending them out to clubs and media outlets has become a thing of the past. Artists are saving lots of money by not having to invest in this old school technology. How are you taking these savings and using them to promote your music?

How do you promote shows these days? Setting up a FB event can be helpful, but often times that is about all I see bands attempt. People will like the post, or say they are interested or that they are going, and never show up. In a world where access to countless artists is available with a few clicks, how do you rise above the chaff and get your band noticed? How do you promote shows, outside of just setting up an event page on social media?

Let us know in the comments how you promote your music and what has and hasn’t worked for you. LiveAudience
