This week’s recommended ear candy:

Rock:
From Los Angeles:  THINK OUT LOUD.  This is one of the many projects of master musician/songwriter Peter Beckett.  Growing up in England, Beckett’s calling in life was sealed when he witnessed The Beatles perform at the infamous Cavern Club.  Relocating to Los Angeles, Beckett has a storied musical resume that includes writing songs for Olivia Newton-John, The Temptations, Kenny Rodgers, and others.  Peter earned himself a Grammy nomination for his performance on a song featured in the 1986 film St. Elmo’s Fire.  Beatlesque rock with modern flavorings, Think Out Loud is a must for any melodic rock fan. 

Heavy Metal:
From Sweden:  FATAL SMILE.  Brutal but melodic, larger than life, bombastic and blistering, experience three killer tracks from FATAL SMILE and the release 21st Century Freaks.

Hip Hop:
From New Jersey:  ASHANTI ROSS. These three tracks from the release Ready will blow you away!   Well produced Pop magic!!  Ashanti Ross is a great example of the massive amount of talent we present on Spotlight.

Jazz:
From Spain:  NACHO VALENCIAGA.  Enjoy the tasty tones and memorable melodies of this singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Madrid.  Follow Nacho on Facebook, Twitter, and enjoy these tracks from the release Night Trip.

Pop:
From Texas:  VEE GONZALEZ.  An indie performer with a great voice and a great song called “OK.”  Links to everything going on in her world can be found at her website.  Check out this You Tube video for a vocal performance of “OK.”  Indie pop at it’s finest!!!!

Alternative:
From Youngstown, Ohio:  ASLEEP.  Experimental and unique, fantastic and furious, this band will amaze you with their catchy arrangements, one-of-a-kind vibe, and masterful musicianship.  Crack up these tracks from the release Between, Above And Below.

Country:
From Dallas:  JAMES LANN.  Upbeat and catchy, great production and great songwriting collide into some mighty fine country music!  Check out James Lann’s website and like his FB page.  Stream this show and check out some great tunes from James Lann‘s release Honky Tonk Kung Fu.

Rhythm & Blues:
From London:  AMIA FRANZ.  Contemporary, groovin’ R&B, seasoned with jazzy undertones, highlighted by sultry, soulful vocals, Amia Franz has it all!
