WELCOME TO THE INDIE ARTIST INSIDER.  TODAY WE’LL HE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICING AND LEARNING YOUR INSTRUMENT.

Whether you are new to the music scene or a seasoned veteran, You should always find time to practice.  It should be enjoyable to noodle around on your instrument, or if your voice is your instrument, to freestyle, to rhyme, to HAVE FUN performing, even if it is by yourself.  You should always strive to get better, to explore new grounds, to perform to the very edge of your ability and beyond, to always push yourself to get to that next level.  Self motivation is the best motivation and the best way to get better is to practice.  Spend time practicing, learning your craft.  Listen to what others who are masters at your genre, listen to what they do.  See how they operate.  Find some interviews where they talk about their style of music, where they talk about performing, where they talk about how they craft their material.  Allow yourself to be influenced by your favorite performers, without closely copying their arrangements.  It is never too late to take lessons!!  A seasoned professional can add a perspective to your playing that you maybe never have thought of.  No matter how accomplished you are or how long you have been in the game, taking lessons can be very beneficial.  The bottom line is that you should treat your music and your instrument, be it your voice, guitar, piano, drums, or whatever, as a source of fun, accomplishment, and excitement.  If you can’t have fun practicing, how can you have fun performing in front of a crowd?   Learn your instrument.  Spend time with it.  Even if your band is not successful, it can still be a source of fun.  When you’re bored, pick up your instrument and play.  You never know when the next song you write, could be the big hit that everybody loves.  Never stop practicing.  Never stop learning your instrument.  NEVER STOP HAVING FUN WITH MUSIC!!
