Introducing Dottie’s Corner

Greetings to All!

I’m Dottie, the Artist Relations Manager here at SongCast. Now entering my third year of employment with the company, I’ve decided it’s time to start sharing some thoughts and advice gained from my experiences. I’ll also be providing periodic tips regarding common questions from our artists. If you know of something that you feel would be useful to others, drop me a line and I’ll incorporate it into Dottie’s Corner.

A little about myself:

I have varied responsibilities as Artist Relations Manager, but the most important part of my job is overseeing my staff and responding to artist inquiries. Every situation is unique, and each response requires thorough research and understanding. I really like coming up with solutions for our artists, even when the answer is not so simple. I feel it is rare these days for someone to actually get back to you in a timely manner. I pride myself in doing so and always want to be there for each and every artist.

My entire adult life I’ve been around independent music and have enjoyed going to live performances at local venues. It was a blast getting up close and personal with the artists and their fans. And now at SongCast, I can continue being around these artists each and every day! I am thrilled to be a part of the independent music community.

Dottie’s tip for today:

One thing I have noticed is that our artists love SongCast Radio! This is a brand new service here at SongCast and it provides a huge promotional opportunity for all that participate.

I want to stress the importance of using it in conjunction with your SongCast Public Profile. Make sure if someone clicks your link from the radio play list, there is a well maintained and interesting profile there to greet them! Have an eye catching profile image, an informative bio and don’t forget to include your albums. You can edit your profile from within your SongCast account by clicking the “Manage Artist Profile” link. From there you can manage visitor comments, email addresses and even include links to other websites.
