What’s your first musical memory?

That would be the musical ,’Porgy and Bess from Gershwin’. My first love was the track, ‘Oh I gott plenty of nuthin’.

What artists inspire you?

Sammy Davis junior, Ray Charles, Manu Di bango, Massive Attack.

What’s your latest track or album?

The latest EP I produced is called ,’CloudsOfSound’.

What song or album do you HATE?

I do not hate anything! But I dislike a lot of the modern R&B band Hip-hop

What profession would you choose if you couldn’t choose music?

Service Industry. I am an excellent host.

Tell us more about your local scene.

I am one of Amsterdam’s earlier godfathers of nightlife, for many scenes. I created the first hip-hop jamsessions in cafe de Duivel and later founded the Meltingpot foundation for Music, Fashion & Art. I do believe our creative scene is lacking just that right now, creativity! So I have my hopes focused on the future generations.

As a performer, what would be your ‘perfect’ live experience?

Both in between the crowd and on stage shows.

What aspect drew you to the particular genre of music that you now perform/write?

I love Funk like Funkadelic and Parliament and its entertainment value. However I started writing and singing to get a message out first and foremost.

Share one personal event in your life that greatly influenced a song/album that you have created during your musical career.

My experiences in Amsterdam’s oldest and first nightclub called the Okshoofd, where at a young age I met the Stones, the Police and many other artists, and where I danced till dawn many, many nights.

A big thanks to TrinityRoy for speaking with us this week!
