Consider this: one fan may love Twitter, while another may stumble across your YouTube video and then link to your website. With so many social media outlets, how do you reach all of your fans?
By cross promoting yourself and your music via various social media networks. In doing so, you’ll increase your exposure to a larger audience, which will increase the chances that fans share your content with their friends and followers. Most importantly, it will help you reach your fans and help them connect with you in their preferred way.
Simple Ways to Cross Promote:
- Use the Facebook Twitter app. It automatically posts your Twitter updates on your Facebook page. This is a great way to make sure your Facebook page has new content on a regular basis and increases the chances that your Facebook fans will follow you on Twitter. Log into your Facebook page and get the Twitter app.
- Post blog updates to your Facebook Page: Simply copy/past the URL of your most recent blog update and post it into the status update field of your Facebook page. Make sure you’re using photos in your blog post, as they’ll show up in the Facebook status update. This helps draw the readers’ eye to your post.
- Post Blog updates on Twitter by simply Tweeting the title of your blog post and a link to the post.
- Post YouTube videos on your blog, your Facebook page and share the link via Twitter.
- Share your music by hosting MP3s on your blog and sharing the links via Facebook and Twitter.
Next week: Social Media is exactly that: social. We’ll share tips to stay in touch with your fans on a regular basis.
